Pastor Granillo: My Worst Enemy
Growing up with siblings, being married, and even just being a part of the general public has caused me to realize that we fight a lot of different battles in our lives.
As I looked back at the many battles I’ve fought, I realized that there were more than a few that got me nowhere or even caused me to lose ground. In most of those battles, my opponent and I were fighting about two entirely different matters and didn’t even realize it. We named the war similarly, but there was no hope of resolution because even our disagreement didn’t actually have a common ground.
The others,
Pastor Granillo: Write Them On Your Doorframes
There was a popular question that used to pop up in Christian circles, “If you were accused of being a Christian, would a jury of your peers find you guilty?” In other words, do you really live your life as if you believe what you claim to believe? The problem I have with that question, is that the current social definition of a Christian is pretty weak.
Perhaps the question should be rephrased, “If you were accused of trying to be like Jesus, would you be convicted by a jury of your peers?” Because the sad truth is that too often there is a huge gap between being considered Read More

Pastor Raul Granillo: Confronting Reality
The love of Christ should always compel the true Christian to serve, to nurture, and otherwise to give of themselves for the sake of others. John Wesley once wrote, “The Gospel of CHRIST knows of no Religion, but Social; no Holiness but Social Holiness. Faith, working by Love, is the length and breadth and depth and height of Christian Perfection.”
There is hardly a person who would argue the benefits to mankind when we feed, clothe, or give water to our neighbor; but what can be done to make a long term, or even an eternal difference in the life of others? This is the Read More
Pastor Granillo: Crossing The River
“It is impossible for that man to despair who remembers that his Helper is omnipotent.” –Jeremy Taylor
God had rescued the Israelites from Egypt. To do this, He inflicted plagues upon Egypt, He had parted the sea for the Israelites to pass through, He provided manna in the morning and quail in the evening for them to eat, and He brought water out of the rock for them to drink. God had saved the people and become their provider; and He did this in order to take them into a land that was “flowing with milk and honey.”
The land of Canaan was the land God planned to give the Israelites, Read More

Pastor Granillo: Rules, Rules, Rules
When we were kids, my mom had rules that we had to follow. They were nothing out of the ordinary: be in by 6 p.m. on a school night, always let her know where we were, no dessert unless we ate all our vegetables, do our chores and homework before going out to play, etc.
Like I said, there was nothing really out of the ordinary about them, but my siblings and I sure hated having rules. I couldn’t wait until I was an adult and I would be free from the oppressive rule of my parents. I would stay out as late as I wanted; I would go wherever I wanted—whenever I wanted; I would never make Read More

Saint Job of Pochaiv Orthodox Church’s holiday cookie fundraiser was a great success. We sold 100 boxes of cookies and raised almost $2,500. This year all the proceeds from the sales were donated to a new charity centered in Tularosa called Foxhole Homes.
Foxhole homes aims to provide our homeless military veterans with low-cost, sustainable, community oriented housing. Working on the earthship model of Taos fame, they use recycled and reused
