State law provides that upon the request of the Secretary of State, the Attorney General shall assign investigators or lawyers to aid the Secretary of State on Election Day to maintain consistency and uniformity.
“New Mexicans’ right to vote is paramount and the Office of the Attorney General will ensure that right is freely exercised on Election Day,” Balderas said. “Our special agents and assistant attorneys general will work diligently with the Office of the Secretary of State to ensure proper conduct at polling locations across our state this primary election.”
“Election Administrators in all counties across the state are well prepared to ensure the proper conduct of elections,” Winter said. “Adding this partnership between my office and the Office of the Attorney General provides for additional support to county election officials if they need it and further instills trust by the public in the electoral process.”
