Socialist Presidential Candidate Gloria La Riva Visiting Albuquerque

  • Socialist Candidate on the ballot in New Mexico available for interview
ALBUQUERQUE – Gloria La Riva, the Party for Socialism and Liberation’s candidate for president of the United States will be campaigning in Albuquerque Wednesday, Oct. 26. 
 
Born and raised in Albuquerque, La Riva is a graduate of Manzano High School and has decades of experience as a community activist and labor organizer, and has been active in the anti-war movement since the 1970s. La Riva is running for president of the United States with Dennis Banks, co-founder of the American Indian Movement, and is the first Socialist candidate for president to reach the ballot in the state since 1992.
 
Voters will be able to cast their ballots for the La Riva/Banks ticket in a number of other states including California, Iowa, Washington, Colorado, Vermont, Louisiana and New Jersey. La Riva personally opposes efforts to reinstate the death penalty in New Mexico, and pushes to make a job, housing, free healthcare and free education a constitutional right guaranteed to all.
