The Los Alamos Fire Department sponsored the annual event in partnership with several local agencies including the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, Valles Caldera National Preserve, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos County Emergency Management, Interagency Wildfire Management Team and National Weather Service.
The purpose of the event was to educate the public about living with fire and provided an opportunity for citizens to register their cell phone and e-mail addresses with Los Alamos County Emergency Management to receive emergency notifications.
