Every two months Smith’s liquor associates choose a charity and donate the contents. This period Northern New Mexico Crisis Center was rewarded for its contributions. The non-profit serves Los Alamos, Santa Fe, Espanola and Taos with domestic violence issues. Previous recipients include Esperanza Women`s Shelter and Los Alamos Animal Shelter. Smith’s Marketplace also is holding a safety day noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 11. They will have a blood mobile and invite customers and associates to donate. The Los Alamos Fire Department and Los Alamos Police Department among others are participating in the event.
