LACDC News:
Get those costumes ready! Halloweekend returns Oct.28-29 to haunt Los Alamos when Los Alamos MainStreet hosts Trick-or-Treat on MainStreet 4-6:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28 in the downtown area.
Central Avenue and Main Street from 15th to 20th Streets are closed to auto traffic and become a safe pedestrian area where local businesses and organizations distribute candy to costumed families.
While businesses in the downtown area open their doors to the public, this also is an opportunity for businesses and organizations that are not located in the downtown area to be involved. Last year an estimated 4,000 people took part in the weekend’s festivities.
Other Friday activities include Trick-or- Treating at Los Alamos Medical Center 3-5 p.m. and High Tech Halloween 4-6:30 p.m. at the Bradbury Science Museum. The Pet Costume Parade marches down Central Avenue at 5:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. is a YMCA Costume Climb.
Halloweekend festivities continue Saturday, Oct. 29 beginning with pumpkin carving 10 a.m. to noon at Smith’s Marketplace. The Los Alamos Arts Council hosts the Pumpkin Glow 6-9 p.m. on the lawn at Fuller Lodge and also 6-9 p.m. Los Alamos MainStreet will provide live entertainment inside Fuller Lodge.
