SFNF: Black Canyon Campground Is Closed For Season; Refunds Issued

SFNF News:

SANTA FE  Due to necessary maintenance, the Black Canyon Campground on the Espanola Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest is closed for the season, which ends Oct. 9.

All refunds were issued per a Recreation.Gov representative; however customers who have yet to receive reimbursement, such as on bank card statements, may call the Recreation.Gov help desk line at 877.345.6777. Customers may not be able to find reimbursement information at www.recreation.gov due to an online data migration. The online data migration is not expected to be completed until 10 a.m. EST Friday, Oct. 5.

Regarding the Black Canyon Campground site:

“Repair is needed to restore a faulty underground power line that helps provide electricity and water to the site,” Espanola District Ranger Sandy Hurlocker said. “If the line can’t be repaired or replaced by next season, our hope is to have generators in place. Because of the inconvenience to our visitors, we determined it is best to close Black Canyon Campground and issue refunds to those holding reservations from Sept. 24 to Oct. 9.”
