SFI News:

Ranjit Kumble (Business Analytics and Insights, Pfizer Inc.; SFI Business  Network Fellow) will present a seminar 12:15 p.m., Aug. 13 in the Collins Conference Room at the Santa Fe Institute, 1399 Hyde Park Road.

Abstract:  Dynamics of economic and sociological systems are to a very large degree shaped by recurrent decision-making behaviors of individuals within them.

The ability to anticipate the time-evolution of such systems requires an understanding of the underlying generative mechanism for repeated decision outcomes. Studies of recurrent decision patterns in healthcare suggest the role of anomalous diffusive processes, providing new insight into the stochastic mechanisms of individual decision-making.

The broader significance of these findings across complex adaptive systems will be discussed.

Purpose: Research Collaboration
