SFCC Paramedic Program Accepting Applications

SANTA FE  Santa Fe Community College’s Emergency Medical Services Institute is accepting Paramedic Training Program applications through Aug. 4 for the year-long certificate program that starts Oct. 16.
 
Applicants must be a currently licensed New Mexico Emergency Medical Technician – Basic or Intermediate and up-to-date with their certifications. The application fee is $30 and is non-refundable.
 
Entrance to the program is competitive. All applications will be reviewed and those who have the minimum qualifications will be invited to take the test. Testing is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, Aug. 17 and 18 at SFCC (applicants only need to attend one day). The tests include a computer-based exam on Emergency Medical Technician knowledge, an interview and brief scenarios to demonstrate applicant’s grasp and understanding of EMT-level material.
 
After the exams are graded and ranked, the top 18 candidates will be offered positions in the program. Candidates will be notified by Aug. 25. Successful candidates will have until Sept. 1 to accept, after which the position will be offered to the next qualified candidate. Classes for the year-long program begin Oct. 16, with graduation slated for Dec., 2018.
