The Betty Ehart and White Rock senior centers thank Enterprise Bank & Trust, members of Los Alamos National Laboratory and the community, for making our holidays so bright.

The season started off with our Festival of Trees event. Thanks to so many wonderful people who donated holiday items for our silent raffle, the vendors who sold their wares and those who shopped until they dropped. We could NOT do it without so many volunteers, especially Santa.

Then the highlight of the year is our Holiday meal from Enterprise Bank & Trust. We love working with Liddie Martinez and Donavan Price who meet the need and then some. It is so wonderful to be in their presence and feel the respect they have for our community elders.   

“Our Los Alamos Seniors have dedicated decades of selfless support to the community.  It has been our privilege to recognize and celebrate their efforts,” Martinez said. “In the spirit of the holidays, we are happy to sponsor a delicious meal for friends to share prepared by the talented Chef Fred.”

Enterprise Bank & Trust provided a delicious meal of roast beef, roasted potatoes, roasted asparagus and the most delicious, salted caramel brownie one could eat. The roast beef was a treat from the New Mexico Grown grant, sponsored by the New Mexico Aging and Long-Term Services Department.

Bandy Ranch in Aztec, El Morro Ranch, Peculiar Farms in Los Lunas and the Red Barn Ranch in Las Vegas are the four of the five farmers in the Sweet Grass Co-op. The motto for Sweetgrass is, “Better for the Earth, Better for You!” These are real ranchers with real values raising real New Mexico Beef.

Enterprise Bank & Trust also handed out pocket sized 2023 calendars and beautiful coffee mugs from Tintero Workshop and Gallery. The design is by Jason M. Younis, a fifth-generation tinsmith from Albuquerque. His work is part of the Certified New Mexico True program and features a beautiful tin stamped Zia.
