SELF HELP INC. News:

Self Help Inc. extends heartfelt thanks to the community members and volunteers who made this year’s annual Salvation Army Red Kettle fundraiser a success in Los Alamos County.

More than 30 volunteers donated more than 115 hours ringing bells and emptying kettles, demonstrating the power of teamwork and community spirit. Self Help Inc. relies on these dedicated volunteers each year, along with the generosity of shoppers who dropped cash, coins, and checks into the iconic red kettles.

This effort would not have been possible without the partnership and support of the staff at Smith’s Grocery Stores in Los Alamos and White Rock, who made sure volunteers and donors had a smooth and welcoming experience.

This annual fundraiser with The Salvation Army, is a true team effort. The funds collected remain local, ensuring that your neighbors in Los Alamos County — including single parents raising children — have access to essentials such as housing and heat.

“This fundraiser shows what can happen when a community comes together,” Board Chair Linda Zwick said. “Every contribution helps neighbors in immediate need. It warms my heart when parents give their children coins or a dollar for the kettle, fostering compassion that benefits neighbors facing hardships as children grow and become donors.”

Self Help Inc. is grateful to everyone who gave their time, support, and generosity to help strengthen the community and ensure local families receive assistance when they need it most.
