Seeking Applicants For Library Board Vacancy

LIBRARY News:

The Los Alamos County Library Board is accepting applications for one vacancy on its Board.

The next 12 months will be an exciting time as the library board will be supporting a strategic planning process that will guide the future of the library for the next four to five years. Activities include leading community focus groups, playing a role in the community survey process, and providing input into the development and finalization of the document.

The Library Board meets the first Monday of each month and is a fun and collaborative team that has a history of achieving success, resulting in improved library operations. Last year, the board’s major initiative was providing guidance and support for the White Rock Branch Library building project – which was successfully completed in August and has resulted in substantially higher usage levels.

Library Board members serve two-year terms. For more information and an application, see the Boards and Commissions page of the Los Alamos County website. Alternately, the address is https://www.losalamosnm.us/gov/bcc. For additional information, contact Library Manager and staff liaison to the board Steven Thomas at 505.663.1755 or steven.thomas@lacnm.us.
