Second Session Of Basketball Camp Starts Monday

If you are passionate about becoming a better basketball player, then you should attend Skills Camp!

The camp’s mission is to develop fundamental basketball skills. Campers will learn ball handling, triple threat, post moves, rebounding, court spacing, passing, defensive keys, and team offense/defense.

Camp will run about 1.5 hours. Participants should arrive 10 minutes before start time. Bring gym shoes, clothing appropriate for basketball, a basketball and a water bottle. 

The Summer P.E. Camp is at Chamisa Elementary School. Parents and spectators are welcome to watch all sessions from the stage.

  • Cost: $50 for the week
  • Dates:  Monday, June 22 – Thursday, June 25
  • 8-10 a.m. (4th thru 6th grades)
  • 10 a.m. to noon (1st thru 3rd grades)

Who can attend the Los Alamos Summer P.E. Camp?

Any student entering grades 1 through 3 that have an interest in improving their skills in throwing, catching and kicking with different size balls; dodging tag; speed stacks, DDR, Xbox 360 with Kinect, tumbling, log rolls, and somersaults.

Any student entering grades 4 through 6 that have an interest in improving their skills in punting, passing, and kicking with football; soccer skills games, disc golf games, golf chipping, DDR, Xbox 360 Kinect, and Speedminton (type of badminton with a heavier shuttlecock).

Students are invited to attend either or both sessions. The maximum student enrollment for each session is 20 students.

Coach Black has 18 years of basketball coaching experience. He has coached basketball at all levels for both boys and girls.

Payment and registration can either be made at the Chamisa gym on the first day of camp. There is a $50 registration fee required per student per session.
