School Board Honors Departing LAPS Foundation Executive Director

LAPS Foundation Executive Director Joanna Gillespie, left, and Foundation Board President Cheryl Pongratz address the Los Alamos School Board Tuesday. Gillespie is leaving her post as executive director after a 12-year tenure. She has been the director of the organization since its inception in 2005. The Foundation has raised $1 million to benefit the Los Alamos Public Schools in that time. Pongratz said Gillespie has done ‘a phenonimal job’ as director. Gillespie thanked the School Board, which she said had been ‘nothing but supportive’ of the Foundation’s work and said it had been a priviledge to serve as executive director. Photo by Bonnie J.
