Scholarship Application Deadlines Approaching For Tribal Business & Nontraditional Students

ESPAÑOLA — The LANL Foundation, through the Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund, is accepting applications for Regional College/Returning Student (RC/RS) Scholarships and Northern New Mexico Tribal Business Scholarships.
 
RC/RS Scholarships of $1,000 are available for adult students who put education on hold and are now returning to school to seek new career opportunities or training with a two-year degree or certificate. The deadline to apply is June 15, 2016.
 
Tribal Business Scholarships of $1,000 are available for Native students pursuing an undergraduate degree from an accredited post-secondary educational institution in a business-related. These awards support the growing need for accountants, financial analysts, and business information system professionals within Pueblo and Tribal communities. Applications are due Aug. 5, 2016.
 
Qualified applicants for both awards must reside within the seven Northern New Mexico counties of Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe or Taos. Application and instructions are online.
 
Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund is managed by the LANL Foundation with oversight provided by an advisory committee of volunteer donors. Scholarships are funded by contributions from LANL employees, retirees, contractors, community members and Los Alamos National Security, LLC (LANS).
