The American Legion Frank G. Frainier Post 90 hosted a special Veterans Day event this morning called, “Honoring All Who Served”.
Post Cmdr. Ed McDaris welcomed guests and recognized veterans. Vernon Kerr said the invocation and benediction. Los Alamos High School NJROTC performed the March of the Colors and Flag Raising. The Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of America led the crowd gathered outside American Legion building on Trinity Drive.
The Los Alamos Civil Air Patrol Composite Squadron SWR-NM-016 performed a fly-over during the event. Katie Richardson read a statement from U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich. Dist. 43 Rep. Stephanie Garcia Richard read the State Proclamation and Council Chair Rick Reiss read the County Proclamation.
Retired New Mexico Army National Guard Brigadier General Jack R. Fox delivered the keynote address.
Alicia Solomon sang “America the Beautiful”. The Los Alamos High School NJROTC conducted a Three Volley Salute.
Following the event, the crowd was invited to have lunch prepared and served by members of the American Legion, American Legion Post 90 Auxiliary and provided by VFW, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion, Knights of Columbus and Elks Lodge.
