Scenes From Topper Softball Game At State Championship Playoffs

The Topper softball team gathers for a cheer before their first game in the State Championship Playoffs played at Cleveland High School in Albuquerque Thursday morning. The Toppers won their way into the playoffs by winning the district 2-5 A championship title. The Toppers were to face the Aztec Tigers for their first game at state and they had to win this game to progress to the next bracket. The Toppers started out strong by winning the first inning 4-0 and the second inning they picked up another run to make the score 5-0. This would be the last inning the Toppers would lead, as the Tigers showed their strength and pulled ahead to win 14-7 thus closing out the Toppers season. Photo by John McHale/ladailypost.com
