COUNTY News:
Officials and community members gathered Friday afternoon for a special plaque dedication ceremony in front of the United States Post Office in downtown Los Alamos.
The building was recently placed on the historic register at both the national and state level. In attendance were citizens instrumental in obtaining this prestigious historic designation, Los Alamos Postmaster Jim Hunter, representatives from the State Historic Preservation Office, Los Alamos historical Society and Fuller Lodge/Historic Districts Advisory Board, as well as County Councilors.
After the brief program and remarks, the new national and state plaques for the building were unveiled and refreshments were served.
