Scenes From PEEC’s Roadside Geology Tour

Geologist Patrick Rowe led a Roadside Geology Tour last weekend stopping along the Main Hill Road, Valle Caldera and Overlook as one of the Pajarito Environmental Education Center’s Take Wing events. The group learned about nested calderas, the earlier caldera was the Toledo, and the original path of the Rio Grande running under the Townsite. Rowe’s essential point was that the landscape of the Pajarito Plateau was formed in a dynamic but elegant fashion. Photo by Felicia Orth
