Velarde Apples stand open for business Thursday at the Los Alamos Farmer’s Market. The market is open 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Thursday through Oct. 25 in the parking lot at Mesa Public Library, 2400 Central Ave. The Los Alamos Farmers Market was started in 1970 and is a great place to buy local foods and other goods and to support local growers and producers.
