Ann Cernicek and her coaching staff, Jessica Kubicek-Sutherland, left, Erika Leibrecht, Ann Cernicek, Meghan McDonald, and Dustin Sutherland, talk to the players about the practice routine for the evening. Cernicek will be starting her second season as coach for the Toppers, but has a long history of soccer in Los Alamos. She is pleased with the over all strength of her players this season. There are 10 freshman, 6 sophomores, 11 juniors and 13 seniors signed up for the 2018 season. The roster is rounded out with three 8th graders. Cernicek is looking forward to the new district alignment and the schools Espanola, Taos, Pojoaque and Moriarty. She predicts a strong finish for the season. Photo by John McHale/ladailypost.com
