Scenes From Annual Volunteer Celebration At BESC

The annual Volunteer Celebration for LAVA, RSVP and Senior Recognition Day was held Friday afternoon in the great room at the Betty Ehart Senior Center. The event is dedicated to saying thanks for all the volunteer hours that the seniors give to the community in the past year, about 51,440 hours of service that was reported, but the director of the volunteer effort, Sarah Chandler said that thousands of hours were not reported but did not go unnoticed. The event was highlighted by food, friends, dancing and fun. The ‘50s’ band The Nomads provided music for the event, which clearly delighted attendees. Photo by John McHale/ladailypost.com
