Parent volunteers, physical education teachers and students from Los Alamos elementary schools participated in the annual 5th and 6th Grade Field Day at Sullivan Field.

“Field Day is a time for the 5th and 6th graders from all the local elementary schools to get together, mix it up and have a chance to get to know each other before they all go to our one middle school,”  said Tony Hinojosa, Mountain Elementary PE teacher. “All the students are mixed together and put into eight groups that rotate through eight different activities. This encourages participation, social interaction, teamwork, exercise and fun getting to meet kids from the other schools.”

The annual Field Day event is organized by the local PE teachers and made possible through the participation of many teacher and parent volunteers.
