Scam Alert: LARSO Warns Residents Of Phony Calls

LARSO News:

The Betty Ehart Senior Center spoke to a resident who said that they received a call stating they owed the senior center money.

The local senior centers would NEVER call saying a member owes money.

“There is a scam out that shows a phone call could be coming from a real number, like the senior center number,” LARSO Executive Director Bernadette Lauritzen said. “Their goal is that you pay them over the phone with a credit card or gift cards. If you ever have a question, please call the senior center at 505.662.8920 and report it. The services we offer are driven by donations and no one is forced to pay.”
