Saturday’s weather was not ideal for the Capital City Invite at Santa Fe High School but Coach Steven Montoya said that Los Alamos track and field athletes did a great job not letting that bother them.

Although the Hilltoppers did not have any new state qualifiers, Liam Johnson did improve his season best in the pole vault to 13’04”. This is the second meet this season that Los Alamos has finished in first place.
Weather permitting, two local athletes will compete this afternoon at the Marilyn Sepulveda meet of champions at UNM. Liam Johnson will compete in the pole vault and Hayden Walker will compete in the 800m.
Later this week, the team travels to Albuquerque Academy for the 2-day Richard Harper Invitational.
