Santa Fe Ski Team Invites Public To Ski Swap

SKI News:

SANTA FE—It’s time to gear up for another season on the slopes! The Santa Fe Ski Team is hosting its annual Ski Swap Oct. 30-31 at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center (GCCC) in Santa Fe.

The Santa Fe Ski team invites the public to participate in the event – drop off ski-related items noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30.

“Our annual ski swap is a wonderful opportunity for us to participate in the community. There’s a lot of great deals available for both new and experienced skiers,” said Stefan Seigmann, a seasoned Santa Fe Ski Team coach. “The swap always marks the beginning of another exciting season and offers a chance for our coaches to inform the public about our Alpine Race and Master’s Program.”

This year marks an exciting shift as the team enhances their gates and race development training at the improved Sipapu Resort. Sipapu is part of the largest ski area collective in the Southwest. The collective recently invested $10 million in mountain improvements and infrastructure across the region, including a new quad chairlift opening this season at Sipapu.

The new lift will offer the ski team access to over five miles of additional runs over challenging terrain. With a reputation for one of the longest ski seasons in the state and improved snow making capabilities, skiers will enjoy a dedicated training course and some of the longest gates training in New Mexico.

The ski swap is the primary fundraiser for the Santa Fe Ski Team, a registered 501c3 that supports skiers with scholarships, equipment and a staff of qualified coaches throughout an extended ski season that runs mid November to mid March.
