SANTA FE — Santa Fe Pro Musica starts the new year with the Danish String Quartet 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 22 at the Lensic Performing Arts Center. The program includes works by Haydn, Shostakovich, Britten, and Nordic Folk Music. This is the fourth of five concerts in Pro Musica’s compelling String Quartet Series. Tickets: $22 – $92.

About the Danish String Quartet
The GRAMMY® nominated Danish String Quartet formed in 2001 when its members were attending the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.
Since then they’ve won a stream of appointments and awards, including Danish Radio Artists- in-Residence (2006), the establishment of their own festival (DSQ FestivalCopenhagen, 2007), first prize in the London International String Quartet Competition (2009), the Carl Nielsen Prize (Denmark’s most prestigious cultural award, 2011), the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (2012), BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist (2013–15) and in 2016 they began “Series of Four,” the quartet’s new concert series at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
