Santa Fe National Forest Workshops to Develop Public Participation Strategy

Santa Fe National Forest will host two workshops next week to develop a public participation strategy for the Forest Plan revision. The public is invited to participate.

  • March 11 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Española at the NM National Guard Armory, 705 Industrial Park Road; and 

  • March 12 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Santa Fe at the Santa Fe Community College, Jemez Rooms 2 & 3, 6401 Richard Ave.

 What is the purpose of the workshop?

  • Create a meaningful dialogue between Santa Fe National Forest staff and members of the public regarding planning and public participation

  • Develop public participation strategies for the multi-year forest plan revision process

  • Build relationships and share expectations about the plan revision process

Who should attend?

  • Anyone interested in developing public participation strategies for the Forest Plan Revision effort

  • Santa Fe National Forest staff will attend to participate in discussions with other attendees

What is the format?

  • The format will be the same for both of these one-day workshops, at both locations

  • The workshop will include presentations, large group dialogue, and small group discussions

  • Each workshop will be from 9am-4pm

  • The workshop will be facilitated by members of the USDA Collaboration Cadre, a network of individuals with a variety of experiences in community collaboration
