Santa Fe County/Bureau Of Reclamation To Hold Open Houses On Phase I – Pojoaque Basin Regional Water System Dec 16-18

SANTA FE COUNTY News:

SANTA FE – The Bureau of Reclamation and Santa Fe County will host two open house events this winter to share updates and progress on the Pojoaque Basin Regional Water System, with a particular emphasis on Phase 1.

These events will provide the community with detailed information about the project. The Pojoaque Basin Regional Water System will divert, treat and distribute potable water to the Pueblos of Pojoaque, Nambé, San Ildefonso and Tesuque, as well as Santa Fe County customers.

Phase 1 of the project, under construction, includes:

  • An intake facility at the intersection of the Rio Grande and N.M. 502;
  • A water treatment plant at N.M. 502 and CR 101D; and
  • A raw water pipeline connecting these facilities. Transmission water lines, booster pump stations, and storage tanks.

Santa Fe County invites all residents to attend one of the open house events. Each event will feature presentations from representatives of the Bureau of Reclamation and Santa Fe County, along with an information desk where written questions can be submitted.

Responses will be provided by an appropriate agency in the near future after the event.

Future Open House events to discuss the next phases of the project – specifically the roads and delivery of water to the communities will be scheduled in 2025.
