San Ildefonso Road Lane Drop On North Mesa Monday

DPU News:

In support of gas line work on San Ildefonso Road, Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) will be dropping a driving lane on San Ildefonso Road just south of Diamond Drive on North Mesa.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 23 and continuing through Thursday, Feb. 26, traffic will be reduced to one lane from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. A one-way flagging operation will alternate north and south bound vehicles through the construction zone.

The temporary lane reduction will allow the DPU contractor to trench across San Ildefonso Drive approximately 500 feet south of Diamond Drive.

DPU is installing a gas line along San Ildefonso Road to create a loop that will enhance natural gas capacity and reliability throughout Los Alamos.  Officials with the DPU remind motorists to drive with caution in the area.

The Department of Public Utilities (DPU) operates the county-owned electric, gas, water & wastewater systems under the jurisdiction of the Board of Public Utilities. The Board meets the third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. and the public is always welcome. Stay up to date with the DPU by subscribing to the monthly Board Meeting Recap via email, at www.losalamosnm.us/Pages/Subscribe.aspx. The DPU is funded by rates paid for electric, gas, water and wastewater services and auxiliary fees, and has provided the community with these services for more than 40 years.
