COMMUNITY News:

Volunteers are needed to help with events for the community-sponsored, all-night senior graduation celebration known as SAN (Senior Appreciation Night) for shifts that begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 31.

SAN was created as a fun, safe alternative to dangerous celebrations for graduates. The event is in its 30th year and typically serves 350 students.

Approximately 50 volunteers are still needed to work a 2 to 3 hour shift at an early evening BBQ and at the Youth Activity Center, to chaperone the middle evening Wild West Photos and Roller Skating, and to run a Limbo game at Ruby K’s later that evening, and to chaperone a carnival and movies late in the evening.

Volunteers may email Diana Martinez at dmartinez@laymca.org, or call 505.662.3100.

SAN is sponsored by Los Alamos County Recreation Department, The Youth Activity Center, The Family YMCA, DWI Planning Council, Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos, Los Alamos Public Schools, Atomic City Transit, First United Methodist Church, and some 40 other organizations and local businesses.
