Looking for a chance to see the new Community Golf Building and enjoy a libation? The Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation will host a beer and wine tasting event, A Taste of Knowledge 6-9 p.m. June 20 at the new Golf Course Community Building and patio.

Participants will sample a wide variety of specially selected wines and beers, choosing eight tastes from among 12 offerings.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Great Ideas Grants available to school district classroom teachers each fall and spring from the LAPS Foundation.

“The hope is that our community will come out to support our teachers at this unique event,” LAPSF Executive Director Joanna Gillespie said. “Those who dedicate themselves to educating the children of community are so deserving of the classroom grants we fund.”

A complete list of Great Ideas Grants funded since 2008 can be found at http://lapsfoundation.com/projects/teacher_grants.shtml. A Taste of Knowledge tickets for Los Alamos Public School employees are $20 and community members are $45.
