Runners Brave High Winds at Run For Her Life Sunday

Staff report:

Strong winds did nothing to dampen enthusiasm at the 3rd Annual Run For Her Life Race held Sunday, April 14 at East Park.

Runners from as far away as Montana took part in the 5K and 10K races, which raise funds for breast cancer research.

The Los Alamos Chapter of Hadassah, Los Alamos Jewish Center and Atomic City Roadrunners sponsered Sunday’s event.

Top finishers were:

1st place female 5K run: Jill Mauldin 29:32;

1st place male 5K run: Paul Daw 28:14;

1st place female 10K run: Alicia Pope 57:47, and

1st place male 10K run: Ted Romero 42:28.
