Rotary Selects Lauren Partin As Student Of The Year

Rotarian Shelly Wiemann, left, presents Lauren Partin, who has just completed her junior year at Los Alamos High School, with a Rotary Club of Los Alamos Student of the Year award. Partin is joined by her parents Marci and Doug; in attendance, but not pictured, is Partin’s brother Kyle. Partin, a well-rounded student, was selected based upon her dedication to community service.  She volunteers for the Atomic City Children’s Theater and the Sheriff’s Posse and is a member of Olions, Young Voices of the Santa Fe Opera, and the high school choir. She is also a ski patrol training helper and member of several teams of the Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC). Partin was a featured singer at the Los Alamos Memorial Day services. She was nominated for this special Rotary award by CPO Tim Graziani, USCG (Ret.). Photo by Hal Davis
