Road Work Continues on U.S. 84/285 Traffic Switch North of Pojoaque

NMDOT News:

SANTA FE – NMDOT continues work on U.S. 84/285 just north of Pojoaque between mile markers 182.4 and 183.2. The scope of the project includes new bridge construction with new on and off ramps, new roadway lighting and pavement reconstruction for 0.72 miles within Santa Fe County. The bridge construction work is anticipated to be completed by summer of 2014.

There will be a switch in traffic on Monday, April 7, 2014.  The northbound U.S. 84/285 traffic will be detoured to the newly constructed U.S. 84/285 southbound lanes, and will return to the existing northbound U.S. 84/285 lanes at the north end of the project.

The southbound traffic will be detoured onto the west frontage road and will utilize the southbound on-ramp to get back onto the southbound U.S. 84/285.

The posted speed limit is 35 mph through the work zone.  Double fines are in effect through the work zone.

NMDOT urges motorists to proceed through the work zone with caution, watch for construction personnel, observe traffic control signing and reduced speed to the posted speed limit.
