SANTA FE ― The Rio Grande Chapter of the Sierra Club has announced its endorsement of Christine Chandler of Los Alamos for House Dist. 43.
Chandler recently won the Democratic primary and will face Republican Lisa Shin of Los Alamos in the general election this November.
“I have been an avid outdoor enthusiast and animal lover my entire life and am committed to addressing the serious threats to our water, open spaces, and wildlife,” Chandler said. “We can and must do more to protect our communities from fires and the floods that follow and prepare for a future that is more dependent on renewable energy than oil and gas.”
The Rio Grande Chapter of the Sierra Club is a volunteer-led organization representing more than 10,000 members in New Mexico and West Texas. Its mission to is explore, enjoy and protect the planet, and it prioritizes action on protecting the climate, clean air, clean water and conservation of wildlife and public lands in New Mexico and West Texas.
