Richardson Promoted to Deputy Utilities Manager

Jack Richardson

COUNTY News:

Utilities Manager Tim Glasco of the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities has announced the promotion of Jack Richardson, PE, to the position of deputy utilities manager for gas, water and sewer services.

This position was vacated by Glasco July 6 when he was appointed Utilities Manager by the County Council.

Richardson serves as the senior engineer for DPU’s Engineering Division. He has direct oversight of construction design and project management of all DPU’s capital improvement projects.

Joining the DPU team in 2010, he managed the installation of a low-flow turbine at the County’s Abiquiu hydroelectric facility, coordinated the development of a Non-Potable Water Master Plan for the County, and a feasibility study on the development of San Juan Chama Water.

“This is a well-deserved promotion,” Glasco said. “Jack is a true asset to the Department and uniquely qualified for this role.”

Richardson holds a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from New Mexico State University and has three decades of experience in utilities and public works engineering with federal, private and municipal employers. He is a registered professional civil engineer in New Mexico. Richardson lives in Los Alamos with his wife Dolores. They have two adult daughters who live out of state.

Richardson will officially assume the deputy utilities manager role Aug. 3.
