Jeremy Gay
From the Jeremy Gay for Attorney General Campaign:
GALLUP — Gallup attorney Jeremy Gay – a father of six, Marine, and litigator– Tuesday night began the general election as New Mexico’s Republican nominee for attorney general.
“New Mexico is facing a staggering crime crisis, with violent crime out of control and a constant flow of drugs – especially fentanyl – across our southern border that is devastating families throughout our state,” Gay said. “Add to that the constant attacks we face on our water security and the fact that New Mexicans have lost faith in their government… it’s time we elect an attorney general who will fight for our people and our future, and not Santa Fe special interests.”
Gay will square off against Raúl Torrez, who has seen violent crime rise to record levels on his watch as Bernalillo County District Attorney.
Gay’s experience includes:
- Serving as a Marine Corps officer and judge advocate
- Investigating and prosecuting felony and misdemeanor criminal offenses • Protecting service members, veterans, and their families from consumer fraud and predatory lending
- Managing a private law firm dedicated to serving the needs of his community
Jeremy and his wife Casey said they are happy to be raising their six children – Clinton, Elijah, Damian, Peter, Beatrice and Genevieve – in their home community of Gallup.
“New Mexicans feel unsafe and, for countless reasons, they are worried about the future of their families and our communities,” Gay said. “Things aren’t on the right track in our state, and we need a principled fighter as attorney general to take us in a bold new direction. We need an attorney general who hasn’t been part of the problem and will stand up to violent crime and drug trafficking, while promoting an open and honest government that serves the people’s interests.”
