Rep. Roger Montoya Appointed To Workforce Board

SANTA FE —  Rep. Roger E. Montoya (D-Española) was appointed this month by Speaker of the House Brian Egolf to serve as a member of the New Mexico State Workforce Development Board.

Established pursuant to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 (WIOA), the Board carries out the functions and workforce development activities of the workforce system in New Mexico, including providing policy and guidance to local boards, local one-stop delivery systems, and one-stop partner programs. Rep. Montoya’s four-year term officially began June 1, 2021.

“This appointment from the Speaker is truly an honor, and it is my privilege to join the Workforce Development Board,” Rep. Montoya said. “I look forward to giving voice to rural stakeholders and utilizing my diverse experience to develop workforce programs and policies that will move our state forward and support the hardworking New Mexicans at the core of our economy.”
