Registration Still Open For Parenting University

There are still seats available for Parenting University: Tool Up For Parenting, the free workshop put on by the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos (UNM-LA) and the Juvenile Justice Advisory Board (JJAB).

The workshop is designed for parents and caregivers who are looking to equip themselves with the tools and skills necessary to raise healthy, well-balanced children.

The workshop is 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in Building 2 on the UNM-LA campus. Registration is free and a light breakfast and mid-morning refreshments will be served.

Free childcare for children ages six months through pre-schoolwill be provided by the Ark Child Development Center. Parents are encouraged to call the Ark at 505.662.4822 no later than Wednesday, Oct. 21 to sign up for childcare.

Enrichment activities for children K–6, will be provided at the workshop site. Parents should call UNM-LA Community Education at 505.662.0346 to sign their children up for those activities.

“This workshop is a fantastic free resource to parents of the community and is a great source of information that parents can use everyday when interacting with their children,” said Coordinator Lisa Caldwell of the UNM-LA Community Education Program.
