Get ready to lace up your cleats, registration is officially open for the Family YMCA’s Fall 2026 Little Youth Soccer season! This fun-filled, six-week program is designed for children ages 4–5 and 6–7 and is the perfect introduction to soccer in a positive, encouraging environment.
From Aug. 24 through Oct. 1, 2026, young athletes will learn soccer fundamentals while building confidence, developing coordination, making new friends, and having fun. With practices held twice a week from 5:30–6:30 p.m. in both Los Alamos and White Rock, Little Youth Soccer offers a fantastic opportunity for children to stay active and be part of a team.
One of the highlights of the program is its small team sizes of just 6–8 players, giving each child more opportunities to practice skills, interact with coaches, and enjoy plenty of playing time. Whether it’s their very first season or they’re eager to keep learning, every player will be encouraged to grow at their own pace in a supportive, fun-first atmosphere.
Every registered participant will receive:
- Their very own soccer ball to keep and practice with at home
- An official team jersey to keep
These keepsakes help players continue building their skills long after practice ends!
Volunteer Coaches Make the Magic Happen
Little Youth Soccer is powered by incredible community volunteers, and we’re looking for volunteer coaches, assistant coaches, and team parents to join us this season! No coaching experience? No problem! The YMCA provides lesson plans, skill-building activities, and practice ideas to help every coach feel prepared and confident.
As a thank you, one head coach and one assistant coach per team will each receive a $30 registration discount. Coaching is a rewarding way to make a lasting impact while creating unforgettable memories for local kids.
Season Information
- Registration is OPEN NOW through Aug. 9, 2026
- Season Dates: Aug. 24 – Oct. 1, 2026
- Ages: 4–5 and 6–7 years old
- Practice Times: Two evenings per week, 5:30–6:30 p.m.
- Locations: Los Alamos and White Rock
- Season Fee: $80 per participant | $60 for YMCA members
Age Requirements
Children in the 4–5-year-old division must be at least 4 years old by the start of the season or turn 4 during the season. Families with younger children are encouraged to check out the YMCA’s Challenger Soccer Camp, which is designed specifically for younger players.
For the 6–7-year-old division, children must be 7 years old or younger at the start of the season. Players who turn 8 during the season are still eligible.
