There’s a different kind of car show at Chamberfest this year, just don’t call it a car show. It’s a four-wheel-drive show. It’s a rock crawler, jacked-up truck, lifted jeep, project vehicle, SUV snowbeast, off-roading, new or old, any make any model, 4×4 show.
And anyone can enter.
The Chamber of Commerce is inviting anyone in Los Alamos to register their vehicle to be in the 4×4 show, which is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11. Registration is free, but required so the Chamber knows how many vehicles to expect.
The 4×4 vehicles will be parked in the parking lot in front of the Chamber of Commerce at 15th Street and Central Avenue. Individuals are invited to bring a lawn chair and a cooler and sit beside their vehicle to tell Chamberfest visitors about their 4×4, or show videos of their off-road adventures on a laptop computer, or display photos on poster boards. It is an opportunity to talk about trips to trails in New Mexico, Colorado, Utah or California or to meet people who want to plan future off-roading adventures.
Registration forms are available at the 4×4 show’s exclusive sponsor Trinity Urgent Care, at the Chamber of Commerce office, at Napa Auto Parts, and on various community bulletin boards around town. To register electronically, email your name, phone, email, mailing address, vehicle make and model, and license plate to firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information, call 505.661.4816.
