Republican Reginald Thomas Page, Jr. filed as a candidate for Los Alamos County Council this afternoon in Council Chambers. Page has lived in Los Alamos for 12 years. Now that his children are grown, Page is ready to leave coaching basketball behind for new volunteer challenges. ‘I’m looking to get involved and help the County become better,’ he said ‘I’d like to help bring in new small businesses and make it easier to start a business here. I love small town life and I want to support small town businesses. We need things like a movie theater for our kids. I want to bring the kids back to Los Alamos. Drug and alcohol abuse programs are not readily available in Los Alamos. We need to support people who want to start nonprofits. The pandemic has caused suicide and drug and alcohol issues to skyrocket.’ Page also would like to better support Los Alamos veterans. Photo by Bonnie J. Gordon/ladailypost.com
