The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) urges residents learn the risk factors of diabetes, how to prevent it, and, if diagnosed, how to manage it.

“Of the approximately two million people in New Mexico, more than 567,000 of them have prediabetes,” DOH Cabinet Secretary Kathy Kunkel said. “Prediabetes can lead to type 2 diabetes, yet over 50 percent of type 2 cases are preventable. Prevention begins with awareness.”

New Mexico Delegation: $12.5 Million Grant To Improve Safety On Permian Basin Transportation Corridor

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senators Tom Udall (D-N.M.) and Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) and U.S. Representatives Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.), Deb Haaland (D-N.M.) and Xochitl Torres Small (D-N.M.) have announced that the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) a $12,500,000 grant.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Tom Udall (D-N.M.), a member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, has announced the passage of two Udall-authored amendments and two additional Udall-cosponsored amendments to the NASA Reauthorization Act of 2019.

The Public Works/Traffic Division provides the latest updates on the following project:

N.M. 502 Road Construction/Roundabout:

In order to build the new Canyon Road connection, it is necessary to install an 8” waterline across N.M. 502 at Arroyo Lane. This will require a flagging operation, which is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.

The plan is for Star Paving to complete construction of the Canyon Road connection and then close the existing Canyon Road at a time/date yet to be determined. More information will be available in the next Cone Zone.
