After a historic campaign waged by the Make It Safe Coalition, the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act became law when President Obama signed it earlier this week.

The Act restores, modernizes and expands federal whistleblower protections from the original scope of the 1989 Whistleblower Protection Act.

A whistleblower is a federal employee who discloses to the public or those in authority, mismanagement, waste, fraud, abuse and other illegalities and protects

ALBUQUERQUE—Today marks the 5-year anniversary of when a park ranger was shot near Abiquiu Lake.

Authorities announced at a press conference at FBI Headquarters Friday that they are offering a $55,000 reward for help in cracking the case.

Potential Hazards Lurk in Las Conchas Burn Area

The Santa Fe National Forest reminds the public that certain areas of the Las Conchas Fire area are open, however, some areas remain closed due to safety hazardous.

Standing burnt trees that could fall on vehicles pose a significant risk to anyone driving on roads that have not been cleared of these hazards.

Vehicle camping is not permitted off designated open roads.

Thieves Steal Tires Off Knapp's Wraps Mobile Eatery

Knapp's Wraps mobile eatery is sitting on blocks after thieves stole all four tires off the vehicle at 128 N.M. 4 in White Rock Monday night. Gary and Cindy Knapp have owned the mobile eatery for several years. Police are on the trail of the suspected robbers and encourage anyone with information to call them at 662-8222. Photo by Carol A.
