FBI: Man In NY Yankees Cap Robs Albuquerque Bank

A man wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap robbed a northeast Albuquerque bank Thursday, June 14.
 
The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male in his 50s, approximately 5’7″, with a slender build. He wore a blue New York Yankees baseball cap and a hooded long-sleeve shirt with light and dark stripes,
 
At approximately 4:35 p.m., the suspect entered BBVA Compass Bank, 6001 Academy Road NE, and displayed a handgun. He demanded money from a teller, who handed over an undisclosed amount of money.

DIXON June 12, New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau agents obtained recorded phone conversations placed by the suspects, John Powell and Roger Gage, which were made to Powell’s girlfriend, Sonya Chavez, 34, of El Prado, while they were incarcerated.
 
During the phone conversations Powell and Gage are heard collaborating with Chavez to retrieve drugs that were stolen during the commission of the murders. The suspects inform Chavez of where those drugs can be located.

Courts Warn New Mexicans About Jury Duty Scam

SANTA FE The Administrative Office of the Courts is warning New Mexicans about a scam in which people are called and threatened with arrest unless they pay money for failing to report to jury duty.
 
Anyone receiving such a call should not agree to pay any money and immediately should report the incident to local law enforcement.
