The League of Women Voters of Los Alamos recommends a YES vote on Constitutional Amendment 2, which will create an Independent Ethics Commission that will educate officials about standards of conduct and hold them accountable if they fail to maintain those standards.

Letter To The Editor: Setting The Record Straight

I appreciated the story (link) in the Los Alamos Daily Post about the League of Women Voters forum for magistrate judge candidates. However, I believe the reporter misconstrued a statement that was attributed to me and I would like to take the opportunity to correct the record.

After I had stated my belief that victims should be made whole to the extent possible after a crime and that courts should work toward restorative justice, a gentleman in the audience asked whether the candidates favored alternatives to jail time, particularly for youthful offenders.

FBI: Roswell Man Charged With Using Interstate Communications To Threaten To Injure An Individual

FBI News:

ALBUQUERQUE – A U.S. Magistrate Judge sitting in Las Cruces, today ordered that Kory Dwayne Adams, 35, of Roswell, remain in custody pending trial on charges of using interstate communications to threaten to injure another individual. Trial has yet to be scheduled.

The FBI arrested Kory Adams Sept. 28, 2018, for allegedly posting a message on social media which threatened to injure an individual. According to the complaint, Kory Adams’ brother, Dain Justin Adams, 37, also of Roswell, was arrested Sept. 19, 2018, on a federal criminal complaint alleging child pornography offenses. Read More
