States Get Assistance On 2020 Election Cybersecurity

WASHINGTON, D.C. As states prepare for the 2020 election cycle, the National Governors Association will work with six competitively selected states on strategies to improve cybersecurity operations and communications around elections.
 
Staff from NGA Solutions’ Homeland Security and Public Safety division will assist Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Minnesota, Nevada and Virginia to develop plans for refining and implementing promising practices in cybersecurity operations to ensure the integrity of elections in their states.

SANTA FE According to New Mexico law, drivers must secure their loads or face a $300 fine for littering on state highways.
 
New Mexico statute 66-7-364 states, “No person shall throw, deposit, drop or permit to be dropped, any trash, or destructive, injurious material upon any highway.”
 
In 2016 nationwide, there were 683 deaths, more than 19-thousand injuries and more than 90- thousand traffic incidents related to unsecured loads, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

NM State Police Investigate Explosion South Of Roswell

NMSP News:

CHAVEZ COUNTY — At approximately 12:15 p.m. today, the New Mexico State Police was dispatched to the Roswell Industrial Air Center in Roswell in reference to a large explosion.

New Mexico State Police learned that the Roswell Fire Department was packaging fireworks for the upcoming 4th of July community display when the explosion occurred.

There were 12 firefighters inside the building when the explosion took place. Two Firefighters were air-lifted to a trauma center for life threatening injuries. Ten firefighters were treated on scene for minor injuries.
