New Mexico Supreme Court Suspends In-Person CYFD Family Visits For 30 Days Due To COVID-19 Pandemic

SANTA FE — The Children, Youth & Families Department announced Friday that it will begin facilitating court-ordered family visits for children who are in foster care through video and telephone conferencing.

This is to comply with a directive from the New Mexico Supreme Court that suspends in-person visits for 30 days because of public health risks from COVID-19.

New Mexico Health Department Launches Online Tools For COVID-19 Test Results And Advising Who Needs Testing

NMDOH News:

SANTA FE –The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) announced Saturday that the department has launched two online tools for the public regarding COVID-19:

A portal for receiving COVID-19 test results; and

A self-screening tool to aid in determining if one needs to be tested for COVID-19.

New Mexico State Police Seek Public’s Help Locating Suspect In Fatal Hit & Run Near Santa Fe County Detention Center

NMSP News:

SANTA FE – At around 10 p.m. Friday, the New Mexico State Police responded to a hit and run crash in which a pedestrian was struck and killed on Highway 14, mile post 43 near the Santa Fe Detention Center.

Officers arrived to find Kevin Michael Poirier, 45, of San Diego, Calif., had been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Poirier was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Office of the Medical Investigator.

The 2020 Los Alamos Summer Concert Series presented by Toyota of Santa Fe is monitoring the Covid-19 pandemic and following the recommendations of county, state and federal authorities as they pertain to large gatherings.
