Overlook Park Closed Thursday For DOH COVID-19 Testing

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos Community Services Department announced today that Overlook Park in White Rock will be closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Thursday, April 2, to enable the New Mexico Department of Health’s scheduled testing for COVID-19 to occur.

The drive-through testing will utilize the entrance road into the park and the parking lots. The closure ensures that screening can take place more efficiently and without any interference by members of the public using the park.

Overlook Park will re-open at approximately 4 p.m. Thursday.

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials have announced today 44 additional positive tests for COVID-19.

Los Alamos County Eco Station And Overlook Convenience Center Reduce Hours Of Operation Beginning April 1

COUNTY News:

Due to COVID-19 concerns, the Los Alamos County Eco Station and White Rock Overlook Convenience Center will reduce operating hours, effective Wednesday, April 1.

In an effort to reduce possible exposure between customers and residents, the Bulk Waste Collection Program and Household Hazardous Waste Program will be suspended until further notice.

Commercial and residential collection services will remain unchanged. As a reminder, set out roll carts by 8 a.m. and bag all trash.

Los Alamos County COVID-19 Update: Food Supply Secure; Residents Asked Not To Hoard Food, Supplies

COUNTY News:

Officials in the Los Alamos County’s Emergency Management Office, along with Red Cross and other local responders, are urging residents to refrain from hoarding food and other paper products or cleaning supplies as New Mexico enters another week of “Stay at Home” under the Governor’s Executive Order issued March 23.

“We feel confident that, although some items may be received in limited supplies for re-stocking right now, the public should not be concerned that Los Alamos and White Rock will not be able to stock items in stores,” County Emergency Manager Beverley Simpson said.

Donations To Reward Fund To Help Catch Culprits In Weekend Burglary Spree Can Be Made Directly To LA Crime Stoppers Account At Enterprise Bank & Trust

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department will increase the reward for the weekend burglaries to $500.

Pending additional donations announced earlier this morning in the Los Alamos Daily Post, the reward will total $1,750.
